About the Department of Mental Health
The Department of Mental Health continues a long tradition of providing mental health related services in Vermont, and is the state’s lead agency for mental health policy and advocacy.
The department’s myriad of programs and initiatives help Vermonters live fuller, healthier lives from birth through old age.
As part of the Vermont Agency of Human Services, the department works in concert with the Departments of Health, Children and Families, Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living, Corrections, the Office of Health Access, and community partners throughout the state to improve the mental health and well-being of Vermonters.
Please take some time to look through this web site to learn more about our programs, and what the Department of Health has to offer. Your comments and suggestions on how we can be more helpful are greatly appreciated.
